Congresswoman Gwen Moore and County Executive David Crowley Visit with Seniors, Deliver Meals Ahead of Thanksgiving

Congresswoman Gwen Moore and County Executive David Crowley Joined Meals on Wheels in serving lunch to Milwaukee seniors.

“So many in our community are struggling with hunger, including our seniors. Republicans and the Trump White House are making it harder for my constituents to keep food on the table. Meals on Wheels helps meet such a critical need in our community, and I am so thankful for their work. It was such a pleasure to join them in delivering nourishment to our seniors. I will always fight to protect programs such as SNAP and Meals on Wheels and push back against any cuts.” said Congresswoman Gwen Moore.  

“As Milwaukee County’s aging population continues to grow, we must ensure our seniors and people with disabilities have access to hot meals and nutritious foods – particularly during the holidays,” said County Executive David Crowley. “The recent federal government shutdown showed us that programs like SNAP and Meals on Wheels are vulnerable to the actions by leaders in Washington. Given the uncertainty of federal funding in the future, I am standing with Congresswoman Gwen Moore to call on the Trump administration to protect funding for nutrition programs like SNAP and Meals on Wheels. Let’s continue working together to ensure the people of Milwaukee County and the State of Wisconsin have basic access to the food assistance and supportive services they need.”
