Congresswoman Gwen Moore Votes to Remove Senate Republican Slush Fund Measure Today, Congresswoman Moore voted to strip out a corrupt provision included in the government funding bill that allowed certain Senate Republicans whose phone records were obtained as part of January 6th investigations to sue for up to $1 million. “While millions of Americans health care costs will soon skyrocket, Senate Republicans involved in January 6th investigations sought to use taxpayer funds to get richer. Instead of serving their constituents, they prioritized enriching themselves. Even House Republicans opposed this provision, and I am glad it received bipartisan support today. I am calling on Senate Majority Leader Thune to secure a vote in the Senate to help end this corrupt slush fund.” |
