Congresswoman Gwen Moore Elected Vice Ranking Member of Ways and Means Committee, Appointed to Subcommittees on Social Security, Tax Policy, and Work and Welfare

Today, Congresswoman Gwen Moore was elected by her colleagues to serve as the Vice Ranking Member of the United States House Committee on Ways and Means.

“I am honored to serve in this role, and I am committed to ensuring our work uplifts working families, promotes economic justice, supports former and current foster youth, and builds a more equitable future for all,” said Congresswoman Moore.

Congresswoman Moore will also serve on the Subcommittees on Social Security, Tax Policy, and Work and Welfare.

Congresswoman Moore has served on the committee since 2019.

The House Committee on Ways and Means is the oldest Congressional Committee, responsible for overseeing all federal revenue raising measures, including taxes and tariffs. The committee also oversees Social Security, Medicare, the Foster Care system, Unemployment Insurance, and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF).
