Congresswoman Gwen Moore Statement on Second Dobbs Decision Anniversary

“The Dobbs decision has led to dangerous abortion bans across the country that continue to devastate the lives of women and girls. Victims of rape and incest made to endure forced births. Women with sepsis, on the brink of death, unable to access lifesaving abortion care. Dangerous abortion bans have taken away a woman’s freedom to control their own bodies and given that power to GOP extremists.

As women and girls continue to live with the consequences of such a dangerous and partisan decision by the Supreme Court, I along with my Democratic colleagues, continue working to restore reproductive rights to all women. The end of Roe, a 50-year legal precedent, wasn’t enough for Republican extremists. Birth control, and access to IVF treatments remain at risk and we also must protect these freedoms to ensure that every woman can determine when and if they want to start a family.”
