Congresswoman Gwen Moore Slams U.S. Supreme Court Ruling Allowing Deadly Bump Stocks Today, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the Trump-era ATF ban on sale and possession of bump stocks following the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history. In response, Congresswoman Moore released the following statement: “In 2017, a Las Vegas shooter used bump stocks to kill dozens of Americans in a matter of minutes as innocent people were simply enjoying a music festival. A bump stock allows a person to shoot rapidly, inflicting as much harm as possible in a short amount of time. Bump stocks should not be possessed by an ordinary citizen. The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision will allow these dangerous gun attachments to devastate communities and take innocent lives. In another reckless ruling, this partisan Court continues to put an extremist agenda above the safety, health, and wellbeing of the American people.” |
