Congresswoman Gwen Moore Pushes for Additional Support for Struggling Small Businesses In a letter to Speaker Pelosi, Congresswoman Moore calls for a COVID-19 relief package that supports small businesses to be included in the FY 22 omnibus appropriations package. Congresswoman Moore released the following statement: “Small businesses in Milwaukee and throughout the nation have faced numerous challenges and have been forced to adapt to the changing conditions of the pandemic. Some sectors that depend on face-to-face gatherings such as restaurants have been particularly hit hard. Though Congress has responded to calls for help from small businesses in our local communities, many of those relief programs such as the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) have now ended. Even when they were active, they were unable to meet the high demand from applicants. Small businesses strengthen our local economy and must be supported through these still, difficult times. That’s why I am calling for a COVID-19 relief that helps small businesses and workers get back on their feet.” Read the full text of the letter here. |
