Congresswoman Gwen Moore DOUBLES HELP FOR Wisconsin Families to Pay Energy Bills This Winter
Funds will Help Lower Costs of Heating, Utilities and Energy Repairs for Hardworking Families and Seniors

Milwaukee, Wisconsin — Today, Congresswoman Gwen Moore highlighted a new report from the White House outlining how she helped delivered more than double the annual investment to help more Wisconsin families afford energy costs. In total, Congresswoman Gwen Moore helped secure $246.3 million for Wisconsin through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) in the American Rescue Plan and annual appropriations.

As Wisconsinites continue to deal with the impacts of the pandemic, eligible residents can use these investments to lower the costs of staying warm this winter, cover utilities, and pay for energy repairs.

Local families who need assistance should contact Wisconsin’s Department of Administration Division of Energy, Housing and Community Resources at (608) 267-3680.

“Everyone deserves to feel warmth and protection during our coldest months. But I know that this is a struggle for too many families. I have been a LIHEAP champion because it provides support to my most vulnerable constituents throughout the year, including during Wisconsin’s rough winters. I am so proud that American Rescue Plan funding is again being used to help Wisconsinites when they need it. I will continue working to ensure this crucial program meets our residents’ needs,” said Congresswoman Gwen Moore.
