Congresswoman Gwen Moore Votes to Advance Key Part of President Biden’s Build Back Better Agenda

Congresswoman Moore released the following statement:

“I strongly support the President’s Build Back Better plan, which is why I voted today to move a key element of that agenda, the bipartisan deal known as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to the President’s desk for signature into law. This plan will greatly benefit our community and complement the Build Back Better Act which the House also took action on.  

Together, these bills will not only help address our nation’s crumbling infrastructure, they will also strengthen the economy, provide tax cuts for the low- and middle class Americans, create jobs, and help Americans lower the costs of childcare, health care, and home care while improving access to universal pre-K, higher education, and workforce development opportunities, among other initiatives. 

I understand that the bill before us today is not perfect and that there were critical elements that were left on the negotiating table. Yet, it is crucial that we get these dollars out, flowing to our communities to remove lead pipes, improve transit, create jobs and improve infrastructure, even as work continues on the second part of the Build Back Better agenda. 

But our work is not done. It is vital that Democrats remain united in pursuing the full Build Back Better agenda because our communities have so much to gain from these crucial investments.”
