Congresswoman Gwen Moore Leads 139 of Her Colleagues in Urging Increased Funding for WIC in FY 2022 Congresswoman Moore, along with Rep. Don Young (R-AK), led her colleagues in sending a bipartisan letter to the Appropriations Committee requesting funding be increased to $7 billion for WIC programs. In response, she released the following statement: “WIC programs, especially breastfeeding assistance services, sustain mothers through birth and help children grow healthy. It’s critical that we pour resources into the health of mothers and their children. WIC works and I am glad that so many of my colleagues on both sides of the aisle understand that.
