Congresswoman Gwen Moore Votes to Pass Legislation to Increase Survival Checks to $2,000

Today, Congresswoman Moore voted to pass the CASH Act, legislation to increase COVID-19 survival checks to $2,000, in response she released the following statement:

“I am so pleased to support legislation that would bring serious relief for my constituents, including those with adult dependents and Americans across the country, supplementing the COVID-19 package signed into law yesterday. As millions experience job loss along with housing and food insecurity, the need for direct relief is urgent. And $2,000 would provide a lifeline for Americans falling farther and farther behind.

That’s why for months, Democrats have fought for higher cash payments, and after Trump’s vocal support for increasing cash payments, there should be no hesitation in passing this relief in the Senate. Now Mitch McConnell must do what’s right for the people.”
