Congresswoman Moore Calls for an Expanded List of WIC-Approved Food to Support Families During Coronavirus Outbreak

Congresswoman Moore joined her colleagues in sending a letter to USDA Secretary Perdue, calling for an expanded list of “WIC” approved foods to support Americans during the pandemic. In response, Congresswoman Moore released the following statement:

“During this pandemic, families who rely on WIC are increasingly at risk for food insecurity as grocery store shelves empty because they lack ‘WIC’ approved nutritional food. I am calling on USDA Secretary Perdue to expand the approved food lists for WIC recipients to include similar alternatives so people aren’t forced to leave the grocery store without food.

I will continue working to support Americans during this difficult time and keep fighting to secure economic, health, and food security for our most vulnerable families.”
