Congresswoman Moore Joins Black Maternal Health Caucus in Supporting Legislation to Diversify the Maternal Health Workforce

Today, Congresswoman Moore joined the Black Maternal Health Caucus at a press conference on the introduction of H.R. 6164, the Perinatal Workforce Act as part of the Black Maternal Health legislative package to address the Black maternal mortality crisis. Congresswoman Moore’s legislation provides funding to grow and diversify the maternal care workforce.

“Our  perinatal health care professionals must reflect the communities they serve. I am so proud to join my sisters in the maternal justice fight by supporting efforts to build a more diverse pipeline of perinatal health care workers. When mothers receive care from people who know them, look like them, and come from the same neighborhoods, it ensures a higher quality of care, particularly for those bearing the burden of our country’s high maternal mortality rates,” said Congresswoman Moore.
