Rep. Moore Statement on the Passing of Mildred Harpole “Mildred Harpole, a pillar in the community, devoted her life to bettering the people of Milwaukee. As a champion for justice, she was an educator in under resourced schools, who worked to integrate the Milwaukee public school system and used the tools at hand to educate and empower students. Her commitment to equality did not end in the classroom. She then tasked herself with advocating for fair housing and expanding access to housing for individuals experiencing homelessness. Mildred’s decades-long activism and life’s work touched numerous lives and she will deeply missed. I am sending my warmest condolences to her husband Reuben, and her children Annette and John at this time.” |
