Congresswoman Gwen Moore Statement On Passage of Bipartisan Bill To Help Unemployed Americans

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Gwen Moore (WI-4) is releasing the following statement regarding the House passage of the Bridge for American Workers Act:

“This bill is about creating more opportunities for working families to get the support they deserve and make it easier for states and local governments to provide unemployment benefits for struggling families and individuals that find themselves in between jobs. The Bridge for American Workers Act does as its name states; provides a bridge for Americans crossing over from one difficult situation to a better one. It helps bridge the gap for many people who find themselves out of work and unable to rejoin the workforce before their unemployment benefits run out. The Act allows access to training, career counseling and other assistance for more unemployed workers, including lifting state restrictions that prevents people from getting the additional support they need to get back on their feet more quickly,” Congresswoman Moore said.

“My constituents will now have additional tools they need to get back on their feet.”

The bill now moves to the U.S. Senate.
