Congresswoman Gwen Moore Official Statement On Wisconsin Removal From Two ACA Lawsuits Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Gwen Moore (WI-4) is releasing the following statement on a federal court approving Attorney General Josh Kaul’s request to withdraw Wisconsin from two lawsuits—Texas v. United States and Franciscan Alliance, Inc., et al v. Price, et al.—against the Affordable Care Act: “The wealthiest and most powerful nation on earth has a duty to ensure its people have access to quality and affordable health care. This decision should send a strong message to Republican lawmakers in our state who tried to hamstring our AG and Governor from standing up for health care for Wisconsinites. I applaud this common sense decision. We are not out of the clear in our work to stop Republicans from taking health care away from Americans, especially those with pre-existing conditions. This fight is far from over, as evidenced by the upcoming House vote this week on H.Res. 271 rebuking the Trump Administration legal assault against the ACA,” said Congresswoman Moore. AG Kaul is still waiting to hear if Wisconsin can withdraw from Texas v. United States at the Appellate level.
