Congresswoman Gwen Moore Receives Policy Maker Of The Year Award From Raliance
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Gwen Moore (WI-4) is being honored with Policy Maker of the Year Award by Raliance: Today, Congresswoman Gwen Moore (WI-4) was honored with the Policy Maker of the Year Award by Raliance, a group dedicated to ending sexual violence. “We are recognizing exceptional individuals who have taken bold actions to bring the issue to the forefront,” read a statement from the group announcing the honorees. Another honored guest is Dr. Christine Blassey Ford who received the group’s 2019 Person of the Year award. “I’m deeply honored to be recognized by Raliance, a group doing valuable work in our communities for the most vulnerable people among us. They’re creating innovative solutions to stop sexual violence in an age of heightened assaults and victimization and I’m proud to support their work,” said, Rep. Moore. Since coming to Congress, Representative Moore has been an advocate for raising awareness of sexual abuse and putting an end to the violence that accompanies it. Congresswoman Moore has been at the helm, working tirelessly to pass the Violence Against Women’s Act, (VAWA) to ensure that everyone has access to victims' services, including LGBTQ and undocumented immigrants and that abusers are held accountable. Other honorees are, Tony West, Uber’s Chief Legal Officer received the 2019 Corporate Innovator of the Year Award, and Indira Henard, Executive Director of DC Rape Crisis Center received the 2019 Community Leader of the Year Award.
