Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Gwen Moore (WI-4) is sharing news about the release of Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of President Trump: “Trump seems mighty calm about the release of Mueller’s report. Keep in mind, Attorney General William Barr was seated in his spot because of his belief that the Department of Justice should not investigate a sitting president. If he clings to that DoJ guidance, even though there might be items in the report that could indict the President, it would amount to a great injustice inflicted on all Americans beholden to the ideals of truth, fairness and justice. This report must be made public. Tens of millions of dollars has been spent and the public deserves to know what his report reveals. Let the games begin.” Mueller delivered his report this afternoon, however, there are multiple criminal investigations still underway, including those led by Congressional Democrats. The U.S. Supreme Court has never decided whether a president may be criminally prosecuted while in office, and the Constitution doesn’t give a direct answer.
