National Public Health Week Hosting Lead-Safe Milwaukee Resource Fair

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Gwen Moore (WI-4) is sharing news of a media advisory from about an upcoming important lead safety event during National Public Health Week in Milwaukee.

As part of National Public Health Week, (NPHW) the City of Milwaukee Health Department is inviting all residents, community advocates, and city leaders to attend a family-friendly Lead-Safe Milwaukee Resource Fair. Free lead-safe home kits and water filters will be distributed to eligible families, while supplies last.  Lead testing and lead-safe activities will also be available for children.

“National Public Health Week is a wonderful opportunity for a community health assessment. Prevention measures are key steps to staying on top of our overall health, including those of our loved ones and the most vulnerable among us. It’s away to look out for one another and staying in lockstep with our health providers and advocates. Please don’t miss this opportunity during National Public Health Week.”

National Public Health Week, (NPHW) an initiative led by the City of Milwaukee Health Department celebrates the power of prevention, advocates for healthy and fair policies, shares strategies for successful partnerships, and champions the role of strong public health systems.
