Contact: Jeanette Lenoir (202) 225-4572 DNC Selects Milwaukee To Host 2020 DNC Convention Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Gwen Moore (WI-4) is thrilled to announce the Democratic National Committee (DNC) has selected Milwaukee as the city to host the 2020 Democratic Presidential Convention. Congresswoman Moore said: “It is a great honor to announce that my great City of Milwaukee was selected to lead renewed efforts to shape the future of our nation. In the words and spirit of the great Barbara Jordan, ‘this fight for the Presidency is for equality for all and privileges for none.’ Milwaukee is the perfect place for the Convention. Wisconsin was at the forefront of working Americans organizing for better wages and treatment. This selection to host the next DNC Convention is a celebration for the Midwest to renew its progressive roots and the Democrats commitment to our values, and to uplift all Americans. The good people of Wisconsin are being called to help shape the future of our nation. I’m tremendously proud of Milwaukee being selected. It’s the first time our great city will host such an important event that lays out the groundwork for our future. A future that will work to fulfill the promise of all American workers.” It will be the first time Milwaukee will host the DNC Convention, which is taking place July 13 – 16, 2020.
