One of Milwaukee's representatives in Congress says she has been living with cancer for more than a year.

"In the spring of 2018, I joined an exclusive club of millions of Americans with the cursed "C" disease, cancer," said Moore during a hearing of the House Ways and Means Committee.

She described it as "small-cell lymphocytic lymphoma, a manageable cancer with proper surveillance and treatment."

"Right now, I'm in great health and an excellent prognosis of living with this disease," added Rep. Moore.

She spoke about the disease in the context of the Affordable Care Act, "a disease that guarantees discrimination in the insurance marketplace."

"I spent a lot of time on a gratitude tour of being grateful for medical research, having insurance and thanking God for the ACA provisions," she added.
