Moore Lauds Emergency Food Help for Flood Victims

Milwaukee, Wis. – Today, U.S. Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D-Milwaukee) lauded the news that Wisconsin will receive emergency food assistance for families impacted by flooding last summer. Individual and family eligibility requirements are:

Current FoodShare enrollees do not have to apply in person. Families who have already received the maximum benefit and are therefore ineligible will be notified by the state Department of Health Services. If you are not currently enrolled in FoodShare and had loss of income and disaster related expenses you may be eligible for a one-time emergency benefit. To determine eligibility, you must complete an application in person from November 9, 2010 until November 17, 2010.
