This is good news. A sharp drop in unemployment and a year of consecutive private-sector job growth shows that the Democratic policies set by Congress and the President are working. But make no mistake: we have a long way to go.
Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D-Milwaukee) made the following statement after it was reported that the economy added 103,000 jobs last month: “This is good news. A sharp drop in unemployment and a year of consecutive private-sector job growth shows that the Democratic policies set by Congress and the President are working. But make no mistake: we have a long way to go. “Unemployment and joblessness in Milwaukee’s African American community is among the highest in the country. We must do better. Progress is good, and we must ensure that everyone can share in it.” ### |
