Wisconsin lawmakers, candidates respond to Brussels terror attacks

by Rhonda Roberts

Wisconsin lawmakers, politicos, and candidates for office are issuing statements on the deadly terror attacks that rocked Brussels, Belgium Tuesday.

SEN. TAMMY BALDWIN (D-Wisconsin)
America stands with our European allies and our hearts are with the people of ?#‎Brussels?.
Freedom-loving people around the world must stand strong in the face of hateful terrorist threats and attacks.

RUSS FEINGOLD (D-Candidate for U.S. Senate)
Today our thoughts are with the families who’ve lost loved ones in Belgium.

Our strategy to destroy ISIS is clear: we must choke off its lifeblood, including their arms supply and financial resources, and we must hunt down and kill its leaders. Our strategy must be comprehensive, using all resources — military, financial, intelligence-based, and diplomatic. And as Americans, eliminating groups like ISIS and protecting our country must be a cause beyond politics.

Groups like ISIS, al-Qaeda, and their affiliates threaten us all. But if we work with our partners and allies, and avoid repeating the mistakes of the past, we will protect Americans and the United States, and defeat those who wish to harm us. -RDF

SEN. RON JOHNSON (R-Wisconsin)
Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Brussels. The threat of Islamic terror is real and growing, and we must do all that is necessary to keep our homeland safe and defeat this scourge on humanity once and for all.

My thoughts & prayers are w. the people of #Brussels. Today reminds us that the threat from terrorism is global & requires a global response.
