This is a list of Congresswoman Moore’s Community Funding Project requests to the House Appropriations Committee for potential inclusion in the House’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 appropriation bills. Inclusion on this list does not ensure the House Appropriations Committee will fund the project. Only those projects that are included in the FY 25 funding bills that are signed into law will be funded. Below are brief summaries of the projects and a letter for each project certifying that neither Congresswoman Moore or her immediate family have any financial interests in that project.
Milwaukee County Transit System Bus Replacement Project--$1.95 million
The entity to receive funding for this project is Milwaukee County’s Department of Transportation located at 10320 W. Watertown Plank Road, Wauwatosa, WI 53226.
The funding would be used to purchase three clean diesel buses to replace buses that have reached the end of their useful life. Milwaukee County Transit buses provide 150,000 rides a day and travel 17 million miles annually, helping many of my constituents get to work.

The Village of West Milwaukee—Beloit Road Reconstruction and Utilities--$3 million
The entity to receive funding for this project is the Village of West Milwaukee, located at 4755 W. Beloit Rd, West Milwaukee, WI 53214.
The project would reconstruct a section of Beloit Road from S. 56th Street to W. Greenfield Ave. The average daily traffic on the road is 10,700 and the existing roadway's pavement is deteriorating with significant cracking.

Milwaukee Police Department’s Public Safety Radio System Upgrade Project--$3 million
The entity to receive funding for this project is the City of Milwaukee, located at 749 W. State St., Milwaukee, WI 53233.
The funding would be used to purchase 545 new public safety radios to replace the aging existing system and upgrade the City to P25 Phase II standard.

The Port of Milwaukee’s Dock Improvement Project--$3 million
The entity to receive funding would be the City of Milwaukee, which is located at 200 East Wells Street, Milwaukee WI 53202.
The project would fund activities, including dock construction and related roadwork and utilities work, on underutilized lands at the Port of Milwaukee to support redevelopment for economic purposes and enhanced public use including the possible creation of a new facility to accommodate passenger cruises or a new multi-season public access facility and event space.

City of Milwaukee’s Children’s Commons Project--$2 million
The entity to receive funding for this project is the City of Milwaukee, located at 200 East Wells Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202.
The project would support the construction of a new facility to provide coordinated, comprehensive services under one roof to address the need for high-quality early childhood education, violence prevention, college, and career readiness, and workforce needs for the city’s youngest residents. This new facility will include 13,500 square feet for an early childhood center, 3,500 square feet for teen spaces, a 5,5000 square foot ADA-compliant gymnasium, a commercial kitchen, and public gathering spaces including an outdoor playground.

Marquette University Police Department’s Near West Side Trauma Informed Intervention Program--$1.2 million
The entity to receive funding for this project is the Marquette University Police Department, located at 749 N. 16th St., Milwaukee, WI 53233
The project would support funding to provide mental health and crisis intervention services to trauma-impacted community members.

Capital Investment in Affordable Housing project--$2 million
The entity to receive funding for this project is Milwaukee County, located at 600 W. Walnut, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 53212.
Funding would be used to support the development of housing alongside the McGovern Senior Center in Milwaukee.

North Shore Library-$1.89 million
The entity to receive funding is the Village of Bayside, located at 9075 N. Regent Road, Bayside, WI 53217.
Funding would be used to complete the construction of a new library to serve the villages of Bayside, Fox Point, River Hills, and the city of Glendale.

Public Safety Portable Radio Replacement Project--$294,000
The entity to receive funding for this project is the City of West Allis’ Police Department located at 11301 W. Lincoln Ave., West Allis WI 53227.
The project will replace approximately forty outdated portable radios that are reaching end-of-life. These radios are a minimum of ten years old, are no longer manufactured, and are no longer supported for purposes of repair.

Housing and Homelessness Extraordinary Needs Support Project--$4.5 million
The entity to receive funding for this project is the City of Milwaukee, located at 200 East Wells Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202.
The funding would be used to support a variety of activities to address identified housing needs in the city including to support housing repairs, housing for veterans, housing for the elderly, and emergency payments to prevent evictions and keep people housed while addressing housing instability.

Kosciuszko Community Center--$2 million
The entity to receive funding is Milwaukee County, located at 633 W. Wisconsin Ave., Ste. 1000, Milwaukee, WI 53203.
This project at the Kosciuszko Community Center will involve the renovation of classrooms and learning spaces, a two-story addition to incorporate additional space, and enhancements to locker rooms and the gymnasium. Overall, the improvements made by this project would have a significant impact on physical and mental health outcomes for area residents.

City of Wauwatosa-Replacement of Fire Apparatus - $1.5 million
The entity to receive funding is the city of Wauwatosa, located at 7725 W North Avenue Wauwatosa, WI 53213.
The project would fund a new ladder truck to replace a vehicle at the end of its useful life. The project supports public safety by helping to provide effective and efficient firefighting and emergency services to Wauwatosa and the greater Milwaukee region through mutual aid.

City of Milwaukee-- Building Bridges to New Beginnings Project-- $1 million
The entity to receive grant funding would be the City of Milwaukee, located at 200 East Wells Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202.
The project would support the renovation and expansion of a facility to increase access to housing, healthcare, education, language training, and employment assistance for a growing and vulnerable population of resettled refugees.

Milwaukee Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee’s Public Safety Department Technology and Equipment for Crime Prevention Project--$1.55 million
The entity to receive funding for this project is the City of Milwaukee located at 200 East Wells Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202.
The funding would be used to procure and install updated technology and equipment including security cameras, alarm systems, access control systems, and lighting enhancements and security fencing to enhance security at public housing properties throughout the City.

Food Is Medicine--$1.08 million
The entity to receive funding for this project is the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, located at 2100 E. Kenwood Blvd, Milwaukee WI 53211.
The project would target nutrition interventions for pregnant women in Milwaukee at <200% of the federal poverty limit designed to prevent, reverse, and stabilize disease resulting in healthy birth outcomes. The program will be offered to pregnant women at risk of preeclampsia and/or gestational diabetes, identified by risk factors present in the first trimester.
The project aims to improve the health of participants and improve birth outcomes.
