Sustaining Public Safety and Victim Safety Outcomes Through the Milwaukee County Domestic Violence High Risk Team Project -- $1.35 million
The entity to receive funding for this project is Sojourner Family Peace Center, located at 619 W. Walnut Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53212.
The funding would be used to support the Milwaukee County Domestic Violence High Risk Team (DVHRT) in identifying and responding to domestic violence cases at greatest risk for homicide or near-fatal violence. Funding would also be used to support DVHRT expansion.
The project has a federal nexus because the funding provided is consistent with, and supportive of, the Office of Justice Programs’ mission and aligned with one or more of the purposes described in the Byrne Justice Assistance Grants (JAG) program, section 501 of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (34 U.S.C. § 10152).

The funding would be used to purchase technology, licenses and software to help create a virtual simulation center to help improve the training and quality of in demand nurses.

Modernizing Advanced Imaging to Expand Oral Surgery Initiative -- $1 million
The entity to receive funding for this project is Marquette University, located at 1801 West Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53233.
The funding would be used to acquire advanced dental imaging infrastructure.

Milwaukee County’s Community Violence Initiative Project -- $2.5 million
The entity to receive funding for this project is Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services, located at 1230 Cherry Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53205.
The funding would be used to strengthen existing efforts, working through and with law enforcement and other stakeholders, to provide intensive mentoring, outreach, and crisis prevention services for over 300 youths and young adults at high risk of gun violence.

Asha Family Services’ Violence Prevention Initiative Saving Ourselves, Sisters & Sons (SOS) Project -- $300,000
The entity to receive funding for this project is Asha Family Services, Inc. located at 3719 W. Center Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53210.
The funding would be used to provide evidence-based and proven services to approximately 75-100 individuals who are at risk of using violence in order to promote safer communities and support law enforcement and crime prevention goals. Services would include crisis intervention, housing referrals where appropriate, connection to employment and other supportive services that have been proven to effectively reduce incidents.

The funding would be used to support the acquisition of instruction-critical equipment in hands-on labs such as robotics platforms, edge AI development kits, industrial machine vision systems, and the implementation of hybrid learning systems that allow working adults to participate either on-site or remotely.

Responsible AI + Quantum-Ready Research Computing Center project--$2 million
The entity to receive funding for this project is Marquette University, located at 1313 West Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53233.
The funding would be used for the acquisition of advanced computing equipment. This equipment will provide cutting edge cyberinfrastructure to accelerate discovery and innovation and will support about 60 research groups at Marquette and Medical College of Wisconsin and more than 300 researchers.
