Dear friend, I hope you are doing well. Last week, I sent you a newsletter informing you that veterans who were exposed to toxins during the Vietnam era, Gulf War era, and post-911 era could be eligible to receive additional benefits because of the PACT Act.
Apply for Benefits by August 14th
Because of the high volume of PACT Act applications earlier this week, some veterans reported seeing an error message when they filed on the VA website. If you received this message, your application and intent to file was still recorded by the VA.
To ensure that every veteran receives the benefits they have rightfully earned, the deadline to receive retroactive benefits is now August 14th. If you apply and are deemed eligible, your backdated benefits will reflect the August 10, 2022 date.
To apply or learn more, head to VA.Gov/PACT or call 800-698-2411. Apply as soon as possible. Please help spread the word. If you know a veteran who may be eligible, shared this newsletter with them.
My Office is Here to Help
I am so thankful for veterans in our district and across the country, who serve our country and have made tremendous sacrifices. That’s why I was so proud to vote in support of the PACT Act. I will continue working in Congress to ensure that each veteran receives the care and benefits they have earned. If you have any questions or need assistance, my staff is happy to help you; please don’t hesitate to call my district office at 414-297-1140.
Your friend,
Gwen
