Dear friend, I hope you are doing well. I wanted to let you know that I am here for you, and I am working hard for you. Here’s what I have been up to:Legislative UpdatesI voted for federal legislation to prevent price gouging at the pump. Oil companies are raising prices, taking in huge profits, and making their shareholders even richer with stock buybacks…while you pay more at the pump! This legislation gives the President the authority to declare emergency energy proclamations banning artificially high prices, along with other important measures. I championed legislation that will expand WIC families’ access to baby formula in times of emergencies such as shortages and supply chain disruptions. This bill is especially important as families who use WIC have limited options when it comes to infant formula that they can buy with their benefits. This additional flexibility will allow those families to buy any available formula. I also voted to provide $28 million in emergency funding for the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to address the infant shortage issue while continuing to ensure that the formula that is available is safe for consumption. Democrats and the Biden administration are working hard to address the baby formula shortage because we know it’s a major stress on parents and families. I supported legislation to ensure our female veterans can use cutting-edge breast cancer screening technology and legislation that will guarantee that every VA medical center offer  a safe, clean space to breastfeed. I also proudly voted to improve support to military sexual trauma survivors and ensure they are aware of the benefits and resources available to them. We must continue working to guarantee our heroes can access the best care and support. After the downtown shootings, I joined a rally calling for peace and an end to the gun violence in our community.COVID-19 TestsCOVID-19 cases are rising in Milwaukee County and the County has issued a mask advisory. Please be careful and stay prepared with at-home COVID-19 tests. The Biden administration has announced that households can order 8 additional tests, so take advantage of this. Head to COVID.gov/tests today!Baby FormulaI know that many of my constituents are struggling to find the formula they need to feed their babies, and some have reached out to my office for help.
