Dear friend,
This week, I joined Labor Secretary Walsh, Governor Evers, and County Executive Crowley, and students to discuss the importance of workforce development at WRTP Big Step. My bill, the Jobs for Economic Recovery Act, would help create good-paying jobs for those who need an opportunity. I am looking forward to building on this work to secure family-supporting infrastructure jobs for Milwaukee residents, especially for underrepresented groups, such as women and people of color.
Infrastructure is more than roads and bridges; it also includes water infrastructure. I was excited to visit Rufus King International Middle School to see a lead pipe removal project in action with Secretary Walsh and Mayor Barrett. While the city is working hard to remove every lead pipe, we need federal funding. The American Jobs Plan will pour resources into our water infrastructure to help provide clean drinking water for every resident.
Your friend,
Gwen
