Dear friend,

One of the most important parts of my job is listening to your concerns and finding ways to help you and your family.

That’s why I was excited to host a town hall with Barbara Johnson, our local taxpayer advocate with the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) and Emma Sanchez, our IRS district liaison. At this townhall, I answered constituent questions on the economic impact payments (EIP), Ms. Johnson shared information about how the TAS can help you, and Ms. Sanchez addressed ways to avoid EIP related scams and also expanded on some of the constituent questions on the payments.

If you missed my town hall, you can watch it here.

Find commonly asked questions and answers from the IRS here on economic impact payments. Read guidance from the IRS here on how to avoid COVID-19 related scams. I also encourage you all to check irs.gov for the latest updates.

My district and D.C. offices continue to follow guidance from public health officials and are working remotely. If you have a question or concern, please leave a message at 414-297-1140, as my staff checks messages regularly.

Find information in my coronavirus resource guide on my website, including information to help you access unemployment, housing, food, educational assistance, and more.

Your friend,

Gwen
