Republicans have once again jammed through a tax overhaul proposal that will hurt Main Street America for years to come. I recently held a press conference with Mayor Tom Barret and local leaders to call on all Americans to sound the alarm on this terrible proposal.

In November, a gunman, formerly convicted on domestic violence charges, shot and killed 26 people in a Texas church. My bill, the Domestic Violence Gun Homicide Prevention Act, would incentivize states to pass stricter gun prohibitions on abusers.

The EPA has put Greif Industries on notice for alleged corporate polluting violations at three of its Wisconsin facilities, two of which are in my district and in densely populated areas.
 
 
 
 
Weeks ago, I led 56 of my colleagues in opposition to the FCC's efforts to cut funds to Lifeline, a program low-income communities depend on for phone and internet services. 
 

 


Fair and Equal Housing in Milwaukee

Since 1977, the Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council has paved the way for fair and equal opportunity housing in Milwaukee. This month, they honored me with their Public Service Award for my commitment to eliminating housing discrimination, promoting economic opportunity, and helping to cultivate a diverse, inclusive community.
