Milwaukee gathered together for the first annual Sherman Park Revival Celebration marking a year of progress in the neighborhood after last summer’s violent unrest. 
 

 

This Month in Pictures

August was a busy month in the district! I celebrated the Southside National Night Out, presented at the ACLU and Urban Underground’s Summer Justice Youth Institute, spoke at the YMCA’s Black Achiever’s 36th Anniversary Celebration Breakfast, facilitated and participated in the Cudahy Business Tour with Mayor John Norquist, and received an award from the ATU Local 998 Annual Conference and Meeting. 

I also fought for equal rights for women at the Forum on Right to Equal Pay for Equal Work with Wisconsin State Rep. Sinicki, kicked off the commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Open Housing Demonstration, distributed Meals on Wheels to seniors, and celebrated National Health Center Week with Progressive CHC.
