While it is clear that our nation’s most vulnerable will bear the brunt of President Trump’s vicious proposal, no one will be immune to its devastating impact, especially Medicaid recipients and children with disabilities.
 
 
 
Last month, I emphatically voted against Trumpcare because it is quite simply a matter of life or death for my constituents. The passage of this bill means 23 million people will lose their coverage and 14 million people will be kicked off of Medicaid.
 
 
 
I recently joined a discharge petition filed by House Democrats to force a vote on legislation to create an independent commission to investigate President Trump’s links to Russia.

In May, I was honored to receive the Benjamin Franklin Public Policy Award from the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies, spent time with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, met American composer and singer-songwriter Carole King, and joined Senator Tammy Baldwin at Wood National Cemetery to observe Memorial Day and show my appreciation to the families of fallen soldiers.
